I have recently bought a myler bit for my welsh cob who currently has a kimblewick for ridden and liverpool bit for driving.
He is a big strong type comes down nicely on the bit but resists with his mouth a little on the bend.
I have heard a lot of good things about myler bits so i thought i would try one.
he has a low roofed mouth and a fat tongue.
Does anyone have this bit and what are their thoughts?

I have both a myler combination with low port and a myler kimberwick (kimblewick with slotted Ds) I'm pretty sure my kimberwick is a high port (can measure it if you want me to compare it. My mare has a fat tongue and she had been in pretty much every bit prior to me as she is exceptionally strong and had a history of tanking off. I put her into the myler combination when I first got her whilst I was working on her schooling and getting her out of the habit of tanking off and have recently out her into the kimberwick, I'm amazed with the difference (I was never particularly keen on the nose pressure of the combination but it worked like wonders), she absolutely adores the kimberwick and I find with this bit she finally is in an outline!! She was driven and flashed prior to coming to me (she's a trotter from traveller stock!) and the nose in the air was always an issue. I've put a leather curb strap on the my,see rather than a chain as I've never been keen on the chains.

My mare loves the mylers and the independent action has helped massively with her steering and in the mylers I have brakes with very little effort at all.

I have the triple barrel Mullen for my cob and I think it is a good choice for cobs. I also ride her in a kimblewick with a low port too for mega exciting stuff. (You know like SJ on grass ha!).
