Myler bit with curb chain

Was told today that adding a curb chain to the slotted comfort snaffle would give my daughter more / better brakes , just wondered if anyone else has used one ?

I used to on my D-ring myler but found that the curb rested too high up and so ended up getting the proper myler kimberwick which is a great bit.

I was going to attach one, but if its not going to be in the right place then there's not much point I guess! I still want a myler combo, just trying to justify the cost on a pony thats semi-retired

hi i'm a small lady and i hunt my 17.1hh IDXTB in it. my OH occasionally hunts hounds off him, so he has plenty of get up and go

would def recomend.

i attached a curb to my myler comfort snaffle and it just doesnt sit right its too high and sits out on my mare. wouldnt recommend adding one!

The "curb" thingy on the Myler combi is supposed to sit higher up (sort of where a noseband goes, it's a leather curb strap). Maybe you're supposed to use a leather strap on the other bits if you want a curb? I've never seen them used with curbs though!

Chex - if you need to justify getting the combo then use the fact that I cannot reccommend them highly enough!

Spooks is a different horse in his - I do reserve it for fast / exciting work because he was getting used to his, but it is a brilliant invention!
