Myler bits with curb chain?

This seems like a stupid question and will try to make sense
With some mylers you have hole to put j hooks in for a curb chain beside the 'hook' bit.Should this hole/j hooks be at top of bit(ie near cheekpiece end) or would you put the hook without the j hook hole at cheek piece end so other hook and j hook hole would be at rein end.J hook sort of dangles at bottom??.
As you can tell not very good at describing things so cookies if you understand that.Just need to see if I have been putting the thing on upside down.

Up at the top by the cheekpieces. If your bit has a port (e.g. MB04) then this will help you put it up the correct way.

thanks thats ok.I had it on correctly was feeling bad for mare if she had to suffer for my stupidity.Have lent it to a friend who seemed sure the way she has put it on is right way up with j hooks at bottom tho can't see why they think it would work that way.
I like the KK bit she is in now it has an arrow telling you which direction it goes lol.

They did the same thing at a local RDA centre - I had a stand-up row with the instructor who insisted that she knew best, and I gave in in the end. Poor horse
