We have borrowed a Myler comfort snaffle (slotted one) from a friend on our yard and Toto goes really well in it , daughter did a PC rally in it and he was great (for a change !!), this one has a low port and I was just wondering what the higher ports are for ? I find Mylers very confusing ! , I wondered if he would need a different one for XC as he can lean down and get v strong , he is a connemara x with big tongue , any advice would be great

i have tried both the low and high ported ones in buster. he was very behind the bit in the high port so change to the low port which was great for a while until he learnt to hang on it. i think the different in port size is to make the high port a stronger bit or for a horse with a really big tounge!

I would of thought the higher the port the quicker/harder it acts on the roof of the mouth when pressure is applied. I could be wrong though.
