Help please! I've just had a Myler mullen mouth snaffle (without hooks, 32 mouthpiece thingy) delivered after all the positive comments on here - so thought I'd try before I buy. Looks like a lovely bit, but I thought it was dressage legal? Call me a numpty, but there are some tiny copper inlays on the back of the it and I was under the impression that for dressage you can only use bits made of one type of metal? I may be wrong as I haven't done much dressage before and wanted to find the definitive answer before pony starts going like a dream (er, probably) in the new wonder bit...

well, i've been told they're dressage legal too, as are the 02 mouthpiece ones, which also have those tiny inlays. i have both, have yet to compete in them though.
i'd call BE or BD to be sure, i think. i think it's the stainless-bit-with-copper-roller kind of thing that isn't allowed, not a few tiny stripes of a different metal inlaid, but i could be wrong.
 
They are dressage legal, there have been adjustments in the rulings for the bits

I use the 32 mouth peice with full cheeks for dressage have been for the last 2 years.

My pony loves it, Ive even managed to show jump and xc in it these days.

Thanks all, I tried it last night. Was just going to have a little walk round the school but you know how it is... An hour later and I'm pretty optimistic that it's going to suit. She's a b*gger for dropping a shoulder and the independent sides seem to do the trick. Very sensitive in the mouth so tends to stick her head in the air, panic and run but since having a new dentist, what can I say, different horse!
It is the first time I've ever had to wipe gob off her chest though!
