Hi folks, ongoing saga of horse gnashing on his bit. Have been offered the trial of a myler comfort snaffle level 2 hanging cheek I think. Any info on how people have found Mylers please. Currently in NS universal.
Thanks

V nice, well made bit - worth trying to see if it suits your horse. It won't have the nutcracker action that a lot of snaffles have, so may be better tolerated. As another poster put on, a ported mouth is also worth trying as it gives more tongue room.

My horses suit them very well (small mouthed arabs) and my grey made it quite clear that she didn't like any other bit that I tried.

ETA. I have the full cheek comfort snaffle and the hanging cheek comfort snaffle.

My boy who is a real chomped hated the myler I tried. He's happiest in a small ringed snaffle with very thin mouth peice as he doesn't have much room in his mouth!

I love myler bits. All of my horses have them - very expensive collection! There are so many different mouthpieces and cheeks to choose from that something will suit your horse. If you've been offered one to try then see how it goes. They do work quite differently to other bits so give it a few weeks to get used to it.

I tried a myler on the last horse I had who was fussy in the mouth, he didn't seem to like it and we had the arm breaking bucking incident shortly after :-/ I think it curved round too much towards his cheeks, I didn't really understand the fit of it but was told it was the right size. He was a TB, maybe it just didn't suit his face shape and the other TB we were borrowing it from had the same problem.

I really like them. My boy arrived in a Sam Marsh Pelham :o and after trying a few things, he settled really well in a Myler. :)
