As title suggests, has anyone on here used the myoplast stuff on their PPID/Cushings horse..did it help build muscle ( as well as schooling!) any adverse effects regarding lami?
Thanks

As it's 37% sugar & 14% glucose syrup, I'd personally steer clear for a horse in that risk category, there are products about with a similar amino acid profile & no sugar

Hope that helps!

Myoplast is made from Spirulina (a form of algae) with added glucose syrup and corn starch to make it more palatable.
You CAN buy Spirulina in powder and tablet form from health shops but whether or not you can persuade your horse to eat it without the glucose is another thing ;)

Don't waste the money on myoplast!

I buy spirulina off ebay from highland waters, and they do tiny bags so you can do a taste trial without it breaking the bank.

But.................
My super fussy mare that wont eat from one day to the next absolutely gobbles her feed down and licks the bowl. She also now eats faster? Used to pick at her feed and be a real pain but now clean bowls every time. Im super shocked!

As for results, I can see a difference in a month, and it cost me £10 for a months supply. She is def stronger and has built up her muscle much more than I expected. Ive just re-ordered to keep it up!
