I am having a bit of a time of it with horses ATM! Here are the facts and I would be interested to hear what you think?

14.1 4 yo connie gelding from Ireland - going sweet as a nut

Went to ride on Saturday after having Friday off - he completely freaked out! Seemed a little agitated the when I put saddle on started bucking/spinning/rearing. Didn't even attempt to ride - osuspected colic so called vet immediately.

Vet decided was spasmodic colic - buscopan and bute administered.

Happy pony again - 2 days off then was about to go for a a short stroll along the lane and exactly the same thing again. Now 3 weeks off with bute! Not colic then!

Won't let me even groom around his pelvis! I have my thoughts on what may be wrong but would like to hear other opinions.

Thanks!

What has the vet diagnosed? he must have had some idea to suggest 3 weeks of bute. It sounds similar to one of mine, except he was fairly lame with ligament strain over the pelvic region, vet recommended 2 months rest possible long term issues but with 2 visits by my physio he was back in work after 1 month.
There is a lot a good physio can do but vets do not often refer, mine only did because I suggested it, ask if they think physio would be helpful.
