Mystery swelling on lab

I see a man when I'm out walking my dog who's got 2 labs, I'm sure I saw on here recently but I can't find it, a thread where someone's dog's head swelled and they didn't know why ?

Anyway, they are mother and daughter, the mother's head has swollen, he says its done it about 3 time periodically, I said it might be an allergy to something, or a sting or something, they've had xrays which found a hairline crack in one of her teeth, there is no abcess, and the swelling isn't only on that side its the whole head, forgot to ask him what they are treating it with

Any ideas ?

On petforums, one of two pups had a cone head from an impact and she still has a slightly drawn up skull. Do the two dogs play fight?

I'm not sure, they are mother and daughter, I only know them from chatting to their owner when we meet on a walk, its happened to her 3 times periodically, I was thinking maybe its a certain insect she's going for or something
