Mystery

not horsy, sorry, but we have a bit of a mystery over here.

my house is in the city, but the garden (medium sized) backs on to several acres of allotments.

recently, there have been marks on our top lawn. it has only started happening since someone put loads of bread crumbs out. do badgers eat bread crumbs? it looks like something big has been scraping at the lawn, there is also marks on a treefern thing like it's rubbed itself against it, and a big dent in the flowerbed where i'm guessing it's lain/lyed/laid(sp??) down. we also found some grey/white fur, but its fine and sort of curly, not like badger fur. we think it might me from the 'creature' or maybe just a random dog that got in by coincidence (we get loads of dogs coming in)

any ideas?
