I posted a few days ago about Mysti having a bad reaction to her flu jab. (would post link but i cant find it!!)

Its been 4 days since her jab now, shes still got a lump but its not as big as before but the whole side of her neck is swollen and she still wont let me anywhere near it (shes the kind of pony you can walk underneath, cuddle round her belly ect) so thats very odd for her.

Shes steadily getting better but not very fast :( Shes still fluey with runny nose, headache (or a sudden case of head shyness has come on!) and she isnt herself at all, normally shes desperate to come out her stable in the morn, ive had to really convince her! And she would normally prance, rear and buck her way to the field and she just walks with her head down and stands at the gate waiting to come back in. I dont want her to go out tbh but Honey cant stay in otherwise she goes nuts and Myst wont stay in on her own.

So how long would you leave her to recover before calling out the vet?

I said id wait until today but shes no worse. Slightly better but it really hanging around :(

I would call the vet in the morning if she is no better and just ask their opinion. Sounds like a bit of reaction to the jab. My boy got a giant lump on his neck from his last flu job, its still there but going down 2 weeks later. He wasn't poorly with it though. If he had been and wasn't better after a couple of days I would have been calling the vet. Maybe not a visit in order but certainly for peace of mind.
Hope Mysti feels better soon x

Poor Mysti hope she feels better soon.
I would call the vets in the morning and talk to them. They will advise if a visit is necessary or they can just put your mind at rest that she's going to be ok.
(((((((((hugs)))))))) to you.

Have you reported this to the vet already? If not, it is first on the list of things to do, I would even have called them for advice, if only for them to say give the horse a bute or two and keep it warm and quiet.

The vet said she might have had a "slight" reaction to it or be off colour for a few days, and to treat it as you would if she had flu. :/

Am going to ring again in the morning :(

I would have called the vet as soon it was apparent there was a problem - so certainly wouldn't be leaving it any longer.

Have you? If so, you've probably done all you can but give the vet another ring soon as they open. Bad reactions are relatively rare - has she got something else on top? Is her temp up?
