Just a quick question. I can't see anywhere on the NAf Magic syringe if there is a minimum age to give to?

My youngster (2 and a half) is getting her feet done tonight and after the episode last time I was wondering about giving her this!
Would it be okay?
 
I mean this as being helpful but it may not come across like that- save your money and practice instead! Training a youngster to have its feet picked up, balancing on 3 legs, the noises, etc will work far better than a syringe of very over priced magnesium!

I agree with you, however, I don't think it is fair to practice on the farrier/trimmer - practice in between trims, no on the actual trim day!
 
Thats what i meant laura- it wont help for today but is the only answer in the long term. You could work wonders before the next visit if training was carried out several times a week
 
Another option maybe for next time, when I got my 3 yr old she was awful to have her feet done, I got a load of acp's off my vet and gave her a few each time, made life much easier and she is now great to do...

I appreciate the comments about practise and spending time with them, but some farriers just won't deal with silly youngsters and I can't say as I blame them
 
Yeah I agree too, shes fab too have her feet picked up will let anybody off the yard but hates the farrier, he has never laid a finger on her but she runs to the back of the stable and litrally shakes.

I had okayish results with it on my mare so thought i might as well try it this time with her, I just want any situation shes with a farrier to be as least stressful for her as possible.

.... and also, you have to be a bit careful with mag. If horse has a calcium deficiency can have opposite effect!! :o
