Hi all, as title says, anyone used the above product to help the repair of tendons - any experiences/results would be appreciated. Thanks

A friend of mine did not rehab her horse as per vet's instructions and it got adhesions. (It might have got them even if she had, they are a known complication.) He is not now sound unless he is on the MSM, when he is absolutely fine. If left off, the adhesions stick and he is stiff.

I was advised regular gentle walking exercise for my horse when he split his tendon to prevent adhesions and it worked.

I also fed him tendoneaze and windgall. He is on global herbs website as a success story. He had a very very nasty tendon injury.

msm is excellent product for repairing ligaments and tendons i think please check this but to make a diffrence the amount has to be 20,000mg aday for damage allready there im sure thats what my vet said you can buy msm a lot cheaper of ebay than the naf stuff

MSM is a great supplement for any sort of tendon, ligament or joint problem as it forms the building blocks for the healing process. I used on my boy when he had a tendon injury and maintain him on it now at a lower level. You need to make sure you feed the recommended dose though. Also to add, it is one of the more scientific supplements and I would use in preference to any other 'tendon supplement' on the market (and I work for a company that manufactures feed supps (not NAF!!))

Thanks all, thats very helpful. I rang the NAF helpline and they said to load her for 14 days and then to go on the maint level. They were very helpful too. Vet been at yard today for someone else and I asked her what she thought, she fully endorsed it so have started my girl and will see if it helps. We are on 3 x 5min walks per day at the mo then she has her egg bar shoes on next week then we increase the walking.
