NAF MSM - anyone use this to help with tendon repair

Also in New Lounge - has anyone used this to help with the repair of tendons? My mare has a tear in her DDFT and it claims to help with the repair of tendons/soft tissue. Any experience/results would be appreciated - thanks

not sure about tendons but it is very good for maintaining suppleness in 0lder / arthritic types. definately worth a try! You might also want to google a product called Serrapeptase. My gelding had a bog spavin which completely dissapeared and there is a testimonial regarding a horse with severe tendon damage that made a suprising recovery on this product. Pm me if you want to find out more.

Hi,

My mare has tears in both forelegs due to DDFT damage, and has pretty much had to be retired because of it. I've started feeding her Tendoneaze by Global Herbs which is meant to have good results, it also contains MSM. It does smell foul though so I've had a hard time getting her to eat it. It depends how bad the tear is really, I'm not sure effective a supplement can be. For mine, I just want to be able to do some hacking every now and again so if it helps with that then its worth it. Interesting to hear about Serrapeptase too.

Thanks for your replies, I will def google serrapeptase, not heard of that one. Vet was at yard today and fully endorsed MSM so will give it a go. We are on 3 x5min walking per day at the moment, then next week she has her egg bar shoes on and the walking time increases. Time will tell I suppose but I will do anything to help aid her recovery.
