NAF mud gard powder

May be! My horse had mud fever at 3yrs old and I gave him NAF when he was 4 when it looked like he might be getting it again. He didn't get it at all that year or since then. So don't know if its a coincidence or whether the powder worked.

Are you still giving the powder though or have you stopped it.

I have used it previously and thought it helped. I was also using a barrier cream at the same time though so difficult to say if it would have cleared up anyway.

I use it all the time. My vet reckoned my mare's mudfever was the worst he'd ever seen. We used to have 5 courses of antibiotics every winter, and it still wouldn't clear completely until May.

When it first came out, I started her on MudGuard, over the summer, as a preventative measure. I now keep her on a small maintenance dose (approx 1 teaspoon daily). She didn't get it for a month last year (don't ask!), and sure enough, she came down with mudfever that took 8 months to clear.

I'm not sure how much it helps with the actual mudfever, but it definitely works as a preventative. Wouldn't be without it now
