Has worked well for me in the past helps them make the most of what feed they do eat so can help with weight gain.
Also used Alan and Pages weight gain feed with plenty of success.
It's one of the cheaper suppliments so always worth a go , I think.

I think that it is more of a vit and min suppliment with added probiotics. Have you tried Allen and Page Calm and Condition? It has worked miricales for mine. Soaked sugar beet is also very good for weight gain. Both are a lot cheaper than Topspec and / or Blue Chip.

I am a big pink powder fan and I found it had brilliant results. I was told however to feed it only occassionaly, a tub then a break, as horses can become dependant on it. Don't know if there is any truth in this! I tend to feed it in the winter when she needs a boost as she can suffer from low protein levels.

I feed it all year round. My horse gets very loose droppings and this is the only thing that helps, that is my only reason for feeding it really but it has worked wonders.

I used it on Beau when I first brought him home, he did really well on it.
I only used it for 30 days then switched to Topspec which I have stayed on, and no you dont feed the Topspec while on the Pink Powder.

I use it in the Winter and also if she is looking poor or at times like PC camp and I love it! It seems to be the only thing that really has an effect on Sunny, it also seems to have a calming effect on her which is lovely!

When my horse had surgery in July, the vets actually recommended putting him on pink powder when I brought him home. He is very prone to loose droppings and this has helped a lot, especially in recovering from a general anesthetic.
I'm nearly at the bottom of the tub and am in two minds about buying another one......can they really become dependent on in???

God, I hope they don't become dependant on it because I am at the bottom of my second tub. I shall give naf a phone tomorrow and ask. I'm worried I might become dependant on it as well because it smells so lovely!!

It has done wonders for my TB's weight and his hooves are looking alot healthier

I have never heard of dependence, my local feed store recommended it as a year round multi vit, and I have been very pleased with the results. In the interests of economy I have moved two of mine onto the NAF multi vit with no immediate signs of problems (they came off pink powder about 4 weeks ago)

I emailed NAF and they said it's fine for constant use. If they can become dependent on PP, then surely they can on anything? In which case don't feed them anything! Oh, no, maybe that's going a little too far?!

Sorry I'm in a silly mood tonight. Short answer: yes it's fine according to NAF.

Oh and my mare did very well on PP while on box rest, I'm switching her to TopSpec after I finish this tub so it'll be interesting to see if there is any difference.
