I have a young dressage horse, he doesn't have any problems but because of the nature of his work i've had him on NAF Super Flex since he was 4 years old, it has been steadily rising in price and is now 25% more expensive than when I started him on it 18 months ago! I was picking up a new tub last week when I noticed Equine America Glucosamine 10000, which is half the price and wandered if maybe I should change supplements.

He is on the supplement as a preventative measure, simply due to the type of work Dressage horses do. Prevention is better than cure and all that!

The main difference between the two is:

NAF has 5000 Glucosamine and 5000 MSM

and

Equine America has 10000 Glucosamine and just under 2000 MSM (if I remember right)

Any opinions to which you think is better and would higher Glucosamine be better or higher MSM!

Thank you!

Hiya, this might not be what you want to hear, but I have come to the conclusion that you are as well feeding Turmeric as a preventative measure.

I had mine on Cortaflex for years, and when I took them off it there was no difference at all. I am not saying this applies in the same way if you were feeding a named supplement for a horse that already had an injury.

I use naf superflex and it works for my horses - I notice the difference if I reduce or increase the dose. Haven't tried the other one. If you buy superflex in two litre or bigger quantities it works out a lot cheaper. Online shops like hyperdrug do them in bulk.

Hi there

Theres quite a bit of difference between the two,

NAF Superflex has Glucosamine (pure form) Chondroitin (which has to be fed alongside Glucosamine, otherwise the horse can not absorb the glucosamine) Antioxidents, MSM and HA all important ingredients in joint support.

The other product has MSM and Glucosamine.

You get what you pay for ;)
