NAF Superflex - liquid or powder?

I know this has been done before but sorry, can't find it.

I normally feed the liquid but got powder today as it was the only thing in stock. Having looked at the ingredients etc when I got back some of the key ingredients seem to vary in quantity quite significantly between the two products.

Does anyone know why this is or if there is a reason for the difference?

I don't know the answers to your questions above but I have just bought the powder for my horse and she won't eat it

I have completely drenched and disguised it with sloppy sugar beet and mollichaff but she just turns her nose up - I hope to God she gets used to it otherwise it was a very expensive purchase!

Liquid gets into the system faster then powder and powder is normally cheaper. As for different ingredients I would imagine thats because its a different composition but I'm awful at science

Ravenwood: Try mixing the powder with a little bit of syrup/ mollases or honey

Oh no don't tell me that! One of mine is very fussy and I have wasted a fortune over the years on things she won't eat, yet she has been taking the liquid with no problem at all.

Mine eats it no problem and she can be fussy.

I might have to keep her forever on bute - at least she eats that!! I have never thought of her as a fussy eater before!!

I use the powder without any problems, but all mine think they're cruelty cases who are desperately underfed (nothing could be further from the truth I hasten to add!).

I would imagine that the variance is down to different absorbtion properties for liquid and powder, but now rather intrigued and will investigate further!

(Incidentally, I used to feed noxious powders in a jam sandwich to a very fussy feeder - it preferred apricot to strawberry or raspberry, and DEFINITELY no seeds!).
