My horse went quite lame after shoeing last weekend (3/4 10th's at trot).

My farrier suspected nail bind and came back out yesterday and removed the suspected nail and re positioned it.

Today the horse is now sound on the lunge in the school and trotting up on concrete, but ever so slightly still lame if trotted on a circle on the hard.

Can anyone tell me how long it took for their horse to come back to full soundness after a similiar situation?

Thanks in advance

Thanks for that - I have got some bute and did consider that, but was worried about masking any left over pain. However the anti imflammatory may be of more benefit, so could pop some in his feed for a couple of days.

Fortunately the farrier didn't think there was any infection, so at least no poulticing! Just frustrating as was getting him fit for hunting and don't want him being off too long and un doing all our hard work....
