I had a saddle fitted 2 years ago for my horse and i had a different saddler out a couple weeks ago cos i wasn't happy with the fit and he said it wasn't right for the horse. He then said he would take the saddle as part exchange for a new one however the saddle has badges on the nailhead from another tack shop and he wouldn't be able to sell the saddle with them on it. The saddle wasn't made by the previous shop, they just put their name on it its actually a farringdon but has anyone else managed to get the badge changed? I don't want to take it back to the original shop to sell because tbh i don't want to give them anymore money when they have been basically uselss.

Hope you've followed it turned into a bit of a rant but i really want to get the badge changed

I am surprised that a shop would put its own nail head on ? I would think it devalued a saddle. My albion has Albion nails on and my KN, has KN badges on. It is not a bit deal, or large cost item to get the proper things put back on, any saddler can do it. I recently had one replaced where one had come loose.

Yes i am quite annoyed about it really they never asked us if they could do it and it means we can't sell anywhere but in that shop. thanks i'll look into getting them changed

There is a saddle fitter down this way that has her own 'brand' and puts her own nail heads all all saddles she fits.
