Nails in school

Has anyone had the nails holding the kick boards/fence come out and drop into the surface? We keep finding huge nails in our school and can only assume they have come from the fencing . If anyone has come across this how did you get rid of them. Any suggestions welcome within reason . At the moment we are going around with a metal detector!!

I'd put an ad in your local paper and in local mewsagents asking for the help of someone with a metal detector. A run around the school in return for a crate of beer or similar ??

We have a metal detector and thats how we have found most of them.

Short of sieving the whole school...not sure what else you can do then
