Name Ideas Please

R likes 'Cruisin for a Bruisin' :D

K - she says please don't call it Malibu she has ridden two and they were both naughty!

Ummmm

Clover to home
Clover the moon
Clover Clogs

See the wine does not help and anyway I like Princess Tippytoes! :D

My mum and I were saying we could write a children's book - 'The adventures of Princess Tippytoes and The Flying Cow' :D
Best seller I reckon!

Sounds a winner to be sure.
I should say as my horses have had some of the worst names ever I should not be participating in this thread. Though to be fair they came with them!!

How about Muckle Clover - you can make this out the names of both parents though muckle is more scots

Has to be something along the lines of 'The Galway Girl'.

ETA: Omg, can't believe I didn't read the last line of your OP   I'll hit myself, save you the trouble :o

P.S. But I like that name! :p

I'm loving someone's choice of 'clover to you'
thats brilliant!

What about naming her after a castle in galway:

Athlone clover (althlone is the castle in ballinsloe & I added clover as everyone seems to like it!)
Roscommon is also a local castle to ballinsloe
tulira diamond- (castle in Galway & I like diamond!)

http://homepage.eircom.net/~rookery/index.html here is a list of all castles in Galway.

OOPS... a geography check might be necessary for this one!

Athlone is a pretty large town about 50 miles from Ballinasloe that has a castle but as its a far larger town so the link is probably lost.

Roscommon is the name of an Irish county that borders the county of galway as well as a the name of the main town in that county - again the town has a castle but not really anywhere near the town of Ballinasloe.

To the OP - you could do some form of play on the word "Lee" on her dam side? As far as I know the word lee means a sheltered clearing or a field, so perhaps something like:

Clover Meadow,
Clover Glade,
Clover Dell,
Clover Valley,
Clover Dale,
Clover Vale

Well as I don't know Ireland that well and I typed in a search for Castles in Galway, and also went to things to see in Ballinasloe, you have to forgive me for making a mistake. :) I did try.....

However

Roscommon and Athlone have castles called Roscommon and Athlone so if you named your horse after a castle then it would still be right.

I did think that the link was pretty good though with lots of castle names. :)

When my mum was a youngster she used to live at Dunguaire Castle, it was owned by Lady Amptell (sp?) who used to hunt and ride alot. It is now open to the public for banqueting parties.

Anyway, happy naming :D

I actually really like Athlone Clover, whether it's near Ballinasloe or not!
Some brill names here, definitely think my four choices are in here! And although I love Spreads Easily and it made me LOL, I'm not sure I want a commentator announcing that's what I'm riding!! :D

Will keep you updated as to what they choose!
