We might be in a honeymoon period...but I just love him!

He's super sweet, really sensitive in a responsive kind of way. Has a loooovely trot.

His only wobble so far seems to be hacking, which he's super wobbly with. But he's only just turned 5, so I imagine that will come in time.

Any tips and tricks for building confidence out hacking? My current plan of action is keep getting him out there seeing the world and showing him not everything is out to eat him.

My type!!

When my cob first joined the herd rising 4 weeks went and stood in gateways with a pocket full of treats and watched the world - especially cyclists - go by.

We also spent an hour talking to wheelie bins and a nice dustbin man so now they aren't scary either.

Otherwise I just used to hop off if I could feel his tension building and put myself between him and the monster.

I took my youngster out in hand a lot before riding her so she had seen traffic, loose dogs, the local dustman etc before I risked riding her out on her own and that worked really well
