Name suggestions please!

This is my new lad. 18month old gelding. To make 15hh. Very cute, very friendly and generally an alround nice chap.

I don't particularly like the name he's got at present (not telling
wink.gif
everyone will just go 'ooo, but that's nice' ) so I'd like some suggestions.

Color Me Handsome

i really like the name: Pierce

He has CHAPS registered show name, but I don't want to use any of them (will tell you it later

).

No, I'm not calling him Dobbies
wink.gif
Apart from anything else it's very quickly become dobbin, then Donkey.

Gerald
Brian
Ernie
Humphrey

My lad was called Bert when I got him, I hated it and wanted to change it to Thor or something.....Funnily enough Bert suits him to a T!

No common or old fashioned humans names! I really don't like them, sorry

Sorry, I wasn't more specific - it's a stable name I'm after - he has a registered show name.

Names like Pierce (simple but a bit unsual) I like, but I don't think it'll suit him

I like makes that have other uses : Baily, Mondeo, Pink, Summer (his name if he's been a filly) - the 'modern' kids names. (like Denim :eek )

Puzzle. Tomahawk (Tommy for short.)
the patch in the middle of his right side looks like a wolf's head to me, so i think he's be Wolfie if he was mine! he's lovely, i adore coloureds, lucky you.
i had a skewbald i called The Chocolate Cream Soldier (after a character in a George Bernard Shaw play, if you really want to know) and it would really suit your lad too, i think!

Harley is nice or even Quin sounds posh! Normally names tend to stick its hard naming when you havent seen them you should wait to get to know him, im pretty sure something will match his personality and like i said you generally find you end up calling them something that sticks.
I wanted to keep the name blue in my coloured ponies name, his dads name was blue and he sort of looked like he was going to be blue and white so his show name is denim blue and his stable name is Levi (after the jeans
smile.gif
) although i find i call him squirt alot! lol

Pease keep them coming! I'll know the right name when I see it.

I know a Levi and a Blue
wink.gif
and like both names. Also liking Denim at present. (but know a child called Denim)

So far I like Gulliver, Sully and Harliquin but none quite perfect.

ooo, Marmite.........what a lovely name
grin.gif
If he'd been black.......

I really like the weekday names but they're more girls names (I know a Wednesday and a Tuesday!). Friday or Monday maybe.........?

I love names like Elmo and Wotsit, but rememeber I have to call the name down the field at the top of my voice
blush.gif
Wotsit would be lovely now, when he's little and cute, but a bit more embarassing when he's 15hh of strapping cob!

I do like 'non-names' like that. Want to call a small pony Suitcase
blush.gif
I'm casing about the house for items that would make good names: Hoover.......Toast......

You're welcome to add greek names - I might see one I like (if I can pronounce it
blush.gif
)

I've no problem changing names. None of my previous horses have even come with names! I have to use it for the rest of his life, potentially - I want to like it!
