i think Shadow is a lovely name for a horse - and no reason why it has to be a black horse either.
Could be Shadowfax - Gandalfs horse from Lord of the Rings - Shadow for short.

Or at the yard we have a palomino called Goldrush

Not Goldie as every Palomino seems to be called Goldie.

What about Summer? Her show name could be Indian Summer or Golden Summer.

at a riding school i attended as a youngster they had a palomino called Silver... still makes me chuckle

I had a 13.3hh Palomino Mare, she died on the 8th November aged approx 45, she's sadly missed and leaves her son (27) She was Cheeky, observant, clever and always cheerful - if I could ever have cloned a pony she would be the one!!

Mistletoe - very apt for this time of year too!

Our other palominos are called Mistral, Honey and Molly.
