We lost Tassy mid June this year and since then Nanook has eaten several skirting boards and the neighbours say he regularly cries and can spent 3 to 4 hours crying... he grew up with Tassy so he's obviously worried about being alone. What is best to do? Would getting another dog help him? Or is that a bad idea?

Possibly. Our ridgey missed Holly when we lost her. As soon as we got her another friend she was back to her normal self. If he's used to company then he will be lonely when left on his own.

After battling separation anxiety for nearly two years, with limited success, the only thing to solve it for D was to get her another dog.

Sorry to hear about Tassy. x

When I lost my elderly dog last year leaving my 4 year old without company for the first time ever. I was adamant I wasn't getting another, but he was so heartbroken he wouldn't eat he poohed everywhere barked constantly !! I ended up giving in and getting another my daughter was delighted.
I'm now laying in bed with a 11 month old jr under the duvet with his head in my pillow despite a no dog on the bed rule!!!! Mmm that didn't work out to well!!! Lol
