Hi There
I'm new to the forum and just wanted to get a bit of advice. I have just brought my horse, had her for around 2 months now and have already fallen in love. She is great to do most things with and have been hacking out alone a few times. Not very far just enough to get her used to the new surroundings. She's been very good until last night she kept looking back and trying to turn around. I pushed her on and she ended up napping and spinning around. In response to this I made her turn back to face the way we should have been going and made her stand a few mins, then walked her on, i repeated this making her stand and walking on a few times. when it was time to go back I truned her around and again made her stand and walked her on, I then got her to a certain point and turned her back so we were going away from the way she wanted to go and made her stand and walk on again. I did this a few time on the way home and made her rewalk up the track once we had actually gotten home.
Was just wondering if this was the right response or if anyone else has any other suggestions that I might try is she does it again. I should mention she is 12 so should really know better, maybe shes testing the boundaries??
Many thanks in advice
