Turned my mare out this morning as usual at 9am, mucked out etc and went round to my MILs house, had a voicemail about 11am from the school to say someone who lives next to my field seen my horse trapped between the fence and the road lying down thrashing around
i was already out the door, luckily MILs is about a 3 min walk to the field, got there and someone had put her in the next field for me, checked out the damage and she seems to be okay - no stifness YET just a nasty graze above her eye where the fur has been grazed off and a little nick on her pastern and a ripped rug - i think it could have been alot worse had she not had 3 rugs on
bathed her eye applied some anti bac jelly and turned her back out as she was stressing in the stable and the last thing i wanted was to bring on a bout of colic due to stress, bought her back in before and bathed the eye again, probably be stiff tomorrow but still it could have been alot worse
Seems she somehow managed to get caught round the electric tape and managed to drag the whole lot and panicked and tried to get out the field - the fencing is old fashioned white painted iron railing fencing - is given me the biggest incentive ever now to change the whole lot to post and rail.
