nasty posting

*is finding this thread more and more amusing*

Can almost hear the HHOers brains whirring :D

:D:D:D:D

Seriously though....nearly all of the "blunt talkers" have been given the boot.....which is a shame in many cases because some of them have forgotten more than the rest of us will ever know when it comes to horses!

Too true - I've learnt more about where I stand with many of the moral issues from that set of posters than most of the ones that are around today. You don't have to agree 100% with them, but they make you think and I know that I'm closer to their opinions than I used to be.

In reply to the OP.

Because they are stuck behind a screen and think its ok to speak and treat people in a rude manner. Guarantee they wouldn't be so vocal if you were all sat round the same table face to face. It's amazing the power trips they get on behind the keyboard.

Shame really.

GVs posts were a little "inflamatory" :D :D

However the really rude, personal and nasty comments were from others.

Do you know how bored we would all be if everyone was nice. I actually left another forum as it was far too boring. How long could you spend somewhere full of "lovely pony" "hugs" etc.

I actually started a "Fluffy Bunny" group on it to take the p** People actually JOINED it :D :D :D

Completely agree! Its better than Eastenders on here :D I love it!

But I do get confused by some of the posts and find it hard to keep up sometimes!
It is surprising though how some threads can go from gentle banter to total melt down within half a dozen posts, someone only has to say something that's quite often taken the wrong way and all hell breaks loose and has us running for cover!
Then just as they are having a real good ding dong the thread gets pulled!

You see I thought her post were deliberately inflamatory, an effort to liven the place up :D

I'm a coloured horse owner, in fact I have two, and I laughed.

I think we need to lighten up a bit :D

And if the op hadnt had a real predicament on her hands it might have been a roll your eyes moment, but her comments to the op were out n out nasty, so even of she's a wind up merchant, if you were the op it might not be so funny

I think we must be talking about different threads. The one I read was GV responding to those who suggested selling the mare on DD. She was against it, and honestly who can blame her. Her comments were mainly directed at Christmasparkles and other posters who were defending the site, not the OP.

So she has strong views about DD, so do a lot of other people on here. There must be a couple of threads a week about it.

I agree with marydoll on this one.
I don't see why anyone feels they have the right to talk down to others in a "holier than thou" tone. The OP on the mare & foal thread asked a genuine question. The thread deteriorated into a slagging match, primarily caused by GV's attitude to not just the Op, but towards pretty much every other reply thereafter. THAT is my interpretation of what happened. No need to be rude, condescending or b*tchy towards any other poster if you don't agree with their opinion.

Re: Do I stand a hope in hell of selling an in-foal mare right now?

I think you have a good chance of selling your mare that is in foal, as long as you dont care who buys her or what happens to the poor unfortunate foal. I think even giving them away would be preferable than trying to gain a bob or two.

Nope this is the thread, and yes its still judgemental and nasty, shes not started on dd yet

I can see that's a strong point of view, but many people would object strongly to the idea of selling on an in-foal mare, especially in the current climate. It might be strongly put, even tactless, but I don't think it's nasty.
