Nasty Swelling

I came off Red onto concrete about a week and a half ago and landed on my thigh. Lovely purplish black bruise came up as well as a swollen lump. The bruising is nearly all gone now however the swelling is just the same as it was before, not going down or anything - it sticks out quite a bit and is numbish and tender when touched.

Anyone else had similar injuries - will it heal by itself?

Its probably a haematoma.

Internal bleeding (a Bruise) clumped to together and solidified.
It will take a while for the body to absorb it.

If you are worried and it still hurts alot after this time then go to your doctors.

They can give by looking at it an accurate diagnosis.
Dont feel silly, its there job and you pay their wages!

I got kicked six weeks ago and the lump is still there on my thigh. Be patient and it'll most likely go on its own.

iirc I was given Feldene gel to rub into my haematoma. (or was that for 1 of the horses?!)
if it's painful, you could gently rub ibuleve gel onto it.
