sorry this is a bit of a self-indulge...
my pony and i were the first class of the day, the novice 153cm working hunter. after quite a good round apart from one back off, we did an average show... we were 2nd! lol soo pleased with him.
then we did the 153 whp open, and we were up against all the top ponies in the country - big spooky course but we stayed clear to be pulled in 5th!
after that we entered the derby event. all the top ponies were there again, but then they all started to have poles down left right and centre! the best pony here (county standard - wins all round her but has such a lush pony...) had 2 poles down and a refusal!
cos he won the open class before!!!
anyway i tried my heart out and so did the pony, and we only had one down, although i rode like crap as my instructor told me, so it was left at the end of the class no clears and only 2 on 4 faults. i was pulled in first and got a nice shiny HUGE cup with my rosette!!!! soo pleasesd - though not so much when my instructor and her horsey friend both agreed i was incredibly lucky to have pulled that off
