So anyone visiting yards?
I’m going to Nigel Hawke, Chris Honour, Jane Williams and David Pipe.
Then through my micro share syndicates I’ve got Ben Pauling, Harry Derham and Paul Nicholls later this month. Went to Chris Gordon’s last Saturday.
🤣

I thought about going to Jo Davis' yard as I follow her on FB and it's near my OH's family, but clashes with something I have on tomorrow which was booked for my birthday. I'm not particularly in to racing at all but it sounded interesting and I would like to learn more. I think there are a few trainers around Barbury castle (can't remember the names, sorry!) so might see if they have other dates on.

I went to Lambourne as a teenager when some of the yards were having an open day.

One of the yards had a horse swimming pool on site. It was really quite something.
Went to Philip Hobbs two years ago and they had a horse swimming demo. Was very good.

Went to Nigel Hawkes today, it was a beautiful spot with so much grass. Lovely relaxed horses.
Saw a jockey coach, I can’t remember his name but he trained Harry Cobden amongst others, give a teaching demo with a girl who had just got her license. Had lots of horse cuddles then were given pasties and a cuppa. Good all round.
Didn’t take a single photo!

I have been to Thorne Farm with my riding club - it’s only about 10 minutes from where I live. Nigel put on a good visit for us. Was the coach Rodi Greene? He used to be a jockey at Martin / David Pipe’s.

They still do this every year. Highly recommend - you can go around a lot of yards in Lambourn and some of their facilities are mind blowing! I was also surprised by how many horses, even at the end of the day, where hanging over their door delighted for all the attention and being really sweet.

The yard my mare is at for schooling/sales livery is having an open day today as part of this. I’m sure my girl is going to love all the attention and scritches, she’s a right little fuss pot 😂
