I don't blame you I was in a state for regionals I'd have died or a heart attack by now if I made it through to nationals, you have every right to be proud and nervous!

I am rather happy but rather pooping it too...

There are going to be so many posh people there!!! I think I had better bleach all my whites and sew the holes on my jods, oh and might be best to get some new sole on me boots!!!

Yes, I've been several times.

Three arenas, huge warm up but very busy.

Stables are quite a hike from the arenas. Food wasn't great last time I went but may be better now. I think I read something about an eating facility near the stables for competitors/grooms etc. which will be a big improvement.

Can't comment on accommodation as I always sleep in the trailer.

P.S. Just make sure you bring 'my' trophy back to the Eastern region with you!!!

So, I am not going to get much sleep but lots of exercise and no food!!! They want £25 a ticket for facility grooms/etc for food/drink!!!!!!! Phew.... think I will just take my water butt!!Ah well looks like I am going to sleep in the horse box on a camp bed and ensure I muck out before I sleep in it!!! Lots of deodorant in the morning I guess!!!

Stoneleigh Park Lodge will be fully booked as it is booked a year in advance for all the officials, judges etc for the Nationals. However, the accomodation at Stoneleigh Blackdown Village will probably have vacancies.

Very cheap and cheerful, but - as it says in the link - very much a hostel rather than a hotel.

What's this £25 charge though - where did you get that from?

You could take a blow up bed and sleep in your lorry, they have shower facilities onsite, as well as a restaurant.

What day are you there? Im going on the sunday for the GP

PG, I have a blow up bed but it is a HUGE queensize one, we use it camping at the Race Track and it needs a generator/mains to blow it up!! LOL!!! My hubby is a big lad so we needed a big comfy one!!! (mind you I am a big lass too!!!)

Thanks Troi ...Oh fab, have just booked a room!!! When I called yesterday they said they had no room anywhere!!! Naughty!!! I can at least have a shower in the morning and my much needed coffee!!! I am use to basics, and I will probably only be in there for a couple of hours kip so prefer to spend £35 rather than £80 plus for a hotel!

Sparklet...were they that bad??? If they were clean that is all that matters I suppose... and the kettle works!!!

£25 is actually for VIP area next to ring... der... think I got it rather wrong... and muddled up!!!

I think you need to calm down before you give yourself a heart attack
grin.gif
Then you wont be going to the nationals. If im not busy that weekend I might pop down on the saturday. I'll brimg my HHO banners

That bad....hum... to be honest better than in a tent in the pouring rain but only just.

Some of the rooms were pretty fusty smelling, kettle?, beds very narrow. I was pretty tired so lights out and sleep for me, but I understand the rest of our party were disturbed by a gentleman who had drunk a little too much and used his first floor window to dispose of his lunch...and all I can say is he must have eaten a large portion...lol. Another guest objected 'loudly' to this debarcle with a fine selection of words...lol

Showers and loo's down the corridor were...erm...not that pleasant.

But it was cheap...great eateries in Kenilworth too...went to a brill Italian place.

...but saying that we all had a great time...sometimes these type of details dont matter that much, do they?
