Can any saddle fitter fit and adjust NP saddles?

I've bought one for Bo (couldn't find an AH saddle in budget, even second hand) that was previously used on a Fell pony.

It looks fine now and he seems quite happy, but he's lost a bit of muscle tone over winter. I suspect once he regains his lost muscle it'll want widening a tad.

Broadly yes, but I do see a lot of them fitted in ways that made them fit worse. I once pulled out an entire bag of non-matching wool from one panel, none had been added to the other. No wonder the saddle had been sold! More subtly I've had other fitters say a saddle was too wide when it was too narrow, and vice versa, all sorts.

Some AH fitters may be happy to fit them, read reviews everywhere you can lay your hands on them if you use a new-to-you fitter, from the NP brand or not.

I would recommend getting a full history from the company if the tree does need adjusting - I personally would not widen a tree older than 10 years, or if it had had several adjustments already.

I'm York and she comes to me so you might get lucky! (organising a saddle check is on my ever growing list of things to do!).

My usual saddle fitter can take up to 6, sometimes even 8, weeks to fit us in.

Sbloom was very helpful when I sent her some pics of Bo, and told me exactly which AH saddle I'd need.

Unfortunately as you say, they really do hold their value!
