Anyone here used someone to help them with their horses? Not particulary intersted in whether parelli/monty roberts or what as some use a combination of different things. Some don't use pressure halters either.Any experiences?

I have been taught some of the techniques to help with loading, which were very helpful. I tend to dip into many different schools of thought and then just pull out the bits I think I can use, rather than following one system rigidly

Well, there was a fellow livery who paid a NH person lots of money to help her load her horse....after 3 weeks (and a lot of cash)...she resorted to using the services of an alternative advisor...with great success....
Be careful who you use....there doesn't seem to be any way of ascertaining the quality of advice you are liable to receive.

I saw this when a NH type person was asked to move a young horse in their trailer - they got the horse moved but I wasn't convinced that their techniques on the day were likely to leave a lasting good impression.
But that comes back to listening and watching, and taking on the stuff that is relevant to your needs

Yes, I had one to help me with catching and leading my horse. Worked very well for me. I would agree that there are probably plenty of useless people advertising their services as well. Best to go off personal recommendation of someone in your area who has used someone to help them with the same sort of problem.
