Natural or traditional??

I learned through the Pony Club system passing my A certificate in 1960. When I started learning Parelli in 1998 everything Dave Stuart said resonated of my old PC instructors!!!! And Pat himself said 'natural horsemanship is so old it's new again'!!! I don't think anyone would argue with Pats principles, responsibilities and one line sayings such as 'take the time it takes and it takes less time' 'start as light as you can' 'release every try' and so on and so on!!! Now sometimes we need to remember that Pat, and all the other clinicians, make mistakes just like we do!!

Instead of thinking "Classical" or "NH" think instinctively, every living thing is an individual, treat it as such, Tell me to do something and I won't, ask me to do something and chances are I will, show one of mine a whip and he explodes (from travellers) despite having him for four years, you cannot treat all horses the same, like kids, you find out what works for them
