As title really, I was feeding one with MSM and chondroitin in, but don't like the thought of feeding this stuff to a veggie!

Thanks

How about micronised linseed and turmeric. There's a good group on facebook called "turmeric users group" full of info and stories

Devils claw herb ( not liquid) but the pure herb. I also swear by it, has got my older back in full work and moving fab

On a serious note, i would tend to opt for the 'linseed and tumeric' as have used them before with notable effect. I feed linseed as a matter of course anyhow, but tumeric is easible bought for little money and would be the way i'd go initially.

Alphabute is good. No idea what's in it without looking it up, but it's made a big difference to one of mine who has bilateral mild-ish spavin & the other who is a 10 yo ex-racer with gen wear & tear.

Brilliant! Thanks for your suggestions. I will mull it over and decide on a course of action. Does anyone know if there are any negative effects of long term use of Devils Claw? Not sure if I read something once, tho my memory is dreadful!! It could have been something else!

I have once read about nagative side effects to devils claw but can't seem to come up with a answer 100% either way so what I do is when my 2 older horses are turned away mainly in winter when I can't ride anyway I stop it and give them a break and start it again just before they come back into work. It works so well with my older horses ( one 20 and one 22) that without it they would be retired, in fact my 22 yr old was, and I was on the verge of having him pts as he couldn't cope with not doing anything after being a hard working competition pony. Since being on devils claw and I tried a lot of stuff he's back in work 6 days a week with a local teenager loving him, its great to see. The old half blind lad has a purpose in life again and he's once again happy. So to me its worth its weight in gold and will carry on I expect until they are pts.
