I'm currently using sudocreme and talc to keep mud fever at bay. Works a treat.

Just to add neither of mine have mud fever - big fella has been on the yard for 5 years - while many others on the yard do. Mine have a low sugar, high fibre diet (a horse diet!), a high quality mineral supplement and linseed and vit E in the winter. They both have a lovely bloom. I do think that giving them a good diet helps them stay healthy and resist succumbing to things like mud fever and thrush

Hmmm.... Well off with my head as I use homeopathy successfully and have done for years! I guess "just water and sugar pills" work a treat
