My dad said to me this morning that somehow 13 week old bc Digby is getting past the baby gates we have.

10 mins later I see Digby put his front feet on the top of the gate (can only just reach) and he starts wriggling his back legs in the air trying to find a purchase to climb over!!
quickly distracted him but blimey they learn so fast!!

A taller baby gate will work until he learns how to open it. Lily can open all baby gates big and small so I have to strap them shut!!!!!
If baby gate is on the stairs then putting it 2/3 stairs up rather than at the bottom stops them getting over

my lab learnt to get round the side of baby gate- he used to breathe in then squirm through- i then blocked that off with a chunk of wood, he soon learnt to just clamber up the side of it and squirm over the top. we got rid in the end!!

I work with puppies for a living and a lot of people don't realise just how clever they can be, even at 8 weeks old. They learn quickly whose buttons they can push and who they can't. At this age it's important to be very consistent. I've known pups work out how to open doors and pull latches to open gates!
