I've got a real sweet natured welsh section b mare BUT she will keep running away with friends kids - any ideas on ground work i could do with her to improve things .... kids don't want to ride after doing the wall of death in the menage!
 
Try leading the friend round on her before they ride her on her own. Hannah was right about lunging... that will help alot!

Have you had her teeth and back checked?
If there isnt anything troubling her to cause her to behave like this then how competant are the children who ride her? sounds like she has learnt that she has full control and is taking the mickey somewhat...be interesting to know how she is bred as some sec B bloodlines can have a bit of sharpness about them.
Try giving her a good bit of regular work on the lunge and then pop one of the children on her again and lunge them together will give the child a bit more confidence as you will still have control etc
We produce Sec Bs under saddle for the showring and I have a chap here who is worked and kept busy twice a day and lives out as he is very sharp to ride
