my friend has resently brought her grand daughter a pony afetr passing a five star vetting seeing him 3 times and even me riding him aswell as her grandaughter. we've got him home and he has lots of character which we all love. he is amazing to ride However
his cheeky character as esculated to being naughty when on the ground! when leading him to and from the field he constantly head butts is pulling you to eat the grass and has started to nip so i tried the whole monty roberts establish your space but he just goes to bite, not nastily just so you don't put your hand near him, we don't believe in hitting etc. and as he is only 6 we want to get rid of this new habits before they turn to habits.
does anyone have any groundwork exercises we could try with him?
any similar stories?
how can we improve his behaviour on the ground?
