Just wondered what naughty things your horse gets up to.

I'm a bit spoilt for choice but I think the worst one was when he barged into a field of mares. They had a companion mini-shetland gelding who rushed up to make it clear the girls were with him. My horse just picked him up by the scruff and started shaking him He was quite old and started breathing a bit funny so I was terrified he would die. Luckily when Boo dropped him he had the sense to run off while he was still in one piece.
 
At my first yard the mares and gelding were kept on the same field but strip grazed with electric fencing at either end of the field, so as YO moved the fence they got closer to each other. Naughty Rhyn used to escape under the fence every night in summer, wander over to the mares and just stand by their fence all night. There would be a pile of poo in one place so he wasn't even munching the nice grass, just gazing longingly at the girls!

Have also caught him stealing rugs and throwing them around the stable if he can reach them

My two year old will sneak up behind me and grab my pony tail and pull... HARD! Then wonder why I yelp and swear

My section C was a cheeky monster, he would decide each day himself where he was going out in the field and fence hop if he didn't like where I put him.

The naughtiest of all my horses though was a welsh D mare called Noggy. If she heard the vets car, she would pull back and jump out of the yard into the field and refuse to be caught. I always said she was clever!
 
OK, bear with me, there are a few:

Jumped out of every field we put him in when I first had him, I mean pootled up to 5 bar gates and popped them, getting into everyone's fields and instigating fights with them. Until 1 day he had a nasty accident with a wire fence and now never jumps out.

Chasing his field companion (a cob) round and around the field til the poor thing was exhausted. (He now is turned out alone only).

Jumped out of his stable and got stuck on top of the stable door. Had to be pulled over. Now he has a weaving grill to try to avoid this.

Chases the goats and sheep in the paddocks. They are now terrified of him, run to the next paddock in order to avoid him. To him it's all a big game I am afraid.

Digs holes in the field (once called the JCB) when there is little grass.

Plays games with the water trough, taking the plug out and also playing with the hosepipe when it is on.

Please don't think my horse is totally horrid, he is very mischievious and has a very low boredom threshold. The more work he has the better he is!!
 
Ellie is partial to eating guinea pigs, cats or dogs that dare to come near....though tables were turned when my OH border terrier decided to say 'hi' - he likes licking horses noses, but when he tried to do it to ellie, she flattened her ears and lunged at him, so he growled and nipped her nose instead!

honestly, my horse is SO naughty i cant list everything she does......other than the intolerance of smaller animals, her main naughtiness is when she is turned out, she likes to gallop off with me still attached! think we have sorted this now, with three Polos per turnout.....
 
naughty... at times he needed an asbo lol.

he ate a rubber kid's toy. Constantly winds up his grumpy field mate (because he knows he can run faster lol), steals any food he can get his hooves on.... he's a real character.
 
My old horse was a bit naughty. he used to escape from the field everyday - he'd go through the electric fence, over a wall and back on to the yard, where he would stick his head into the stable door and eat my friend's mare's hay. He also once escaped into a naighbouring garden - they looked out of their windown and their was a fat white horse munching on their lawn! He also once walked straight through a post and rail fence to get out of the field. He ate an enormous hole in the hedge too. If my OH carried a water bucket past him, he'd reach out as if he wanted a drink, then when OH held the bucket up for him, he'd put his head in and shake it really hard so OH got soaked!!

My ponio went through a phase a few weeks ago of escaping from the field constantly - it turned out the electric wasn't working so he was just climbing out. It was so pointless though - he came out of his field where the grass and his friend were, and just stoof on the woodchip walkway between the fields looking bored. He has now taken to knocking off anything that I put on his stable door, I think he does it just to annoy me, and he chews his bridle/reins if he gets the chance which drives me mad!!
 
Fudge trashes everything within reach when he wants to go out in the field, he pulled a rug into his stable and pooped on it once and has dunked my coat in his water bowl, he also trashes the indestructable rubber feed bowls (I've had 4 in 2 years) and throws his headcollar at you when he wants to go out. Lady is never naughty

I'm afraid there's a lot to choose from with my welsh D too.

Tries to wind up any horse that is ridden past his field on the farm track by galloping/leaping/bucking. He knows which horses are likely to respond as he never bothers with the laid back types.

Often ends up in a different field to his own, likes to visit any horses new to the yard if possible. Luckily he is friendly to them.

Can undoo most types of bolts/ gates etc.

Can untie himself in seconds by removing his headcollar if he is in the mood (farrier tried to tie him up with 2 headcollars and 3 leadropes once - didn't work). Luckily for me he seems to be less bothered about this as he gets older.

Has jumped out over a stable door before.

I worry if he's not getting into mischief as it usually means he's ill. He's 20 now and he doesn't bother to jump out as often as he used to but I love his cheeky character!
 
My horse is led out/in from his turnout paddock with another horse, who can just about tolerate walking alongside him, he takes great delight in poking her to provoke an angry response. He also has to wreck everything within his reach; any mucking out tools left near him get thrown about, rugs/jackets get pulled onto the floor and scrabbled about with his feet and abandoned in a pile underneath him. He had my car keys yesterday and was kicking those about, has removed a mobile phone from the pocket of a and hidden it in his bed (I think with the intention of making nuisance calls to the owner of his next-door neighbour). His immediate area is always scattered with discarded hi-viz vests brushes, headcollars etc which he has removed from the top of his window. I do not think I will be missed on my yard, we make the place look rather untidy

Hmmm....where do I start? He seems to think it's great fun to clear off back to the field again if the YM brings him in - then promptly jump in with the mares

Drags his field comp. around by the headcollar, bless him, or grabs his rug and tries to pull it off...

If I leave anything within reach when he's tied up it gets thrown on the floor and trampled/chewed/kicked/trodden on - very annoying!

Won't leave the mare next door alone even tho she squeals like mad every time he goes near her....

Many other things - too many to mention, he's a VERY naughty horse, but I love him anyway (except when he chews his sheepskin numnah!

I would be here all day!!!!! My Welshie D is just a general all round cheeky so and so that will try his luck at anything!
 
my girl will wait until I leave the yard ( I hide round the corner) and then she lets herself out the box and undoes all the top bolts to the other horses
She obv cannot do their kickbolts but she manages to do her own!!

Also, she will untie herself and go into the menage to loose school herself!
 
Ha ha, I have one that tried jumping out. We had 2 fire engines turn up to free him. He lives out now so don't have that problem any more, although he likes to find ways out of the field to go and get the grass elsewhere.

He has also been known to take out the whole door frame of his stable and then work his way around the yard eating all the breakfasts.
 
My very first pony who I still have (now aged 20) used to kneel down under an electric fence then ping his head up and rush under, which pulled up a heap of electric fence posts so then it was flattened which allowed all the other horses to step over and out! Used to drive me nuts. We got proper wire fencing in the end which put a stop to that! But I still occasionally use electric tape - however my Welsh D simply jumps over it from a stand still

my mare is the boss no matter where she goes, we were once on a yard with 5 geldings, one of which was 18hh. They had a huge field and we'd put separate piles of hay scattered around. When we got back all geldings were cowering together in a corner, with her guarding ALL piles of hay, running between them and charging at any horse that dared move closer to one!

Flash lives for his food, and has everything in his mouth. He goes round looking for trouble all the time. He lets himself out of the field no matter how many ways we tie the gate shut, he throws everything on the floor and either chews it or stands on it, he stands in the wheelbarrow like a goat, he empties his water bucket over his bed, steals things and runs away with them...
