Don't think she's ever been this close to a hare or even seen one before

The tiny blob in the distance is her coming back without the hare, thankfully

Didn't have the energy to clear the dyke after that long run

Think I'll continue with my obedience classes

Haha - what great piccies, she gave it a good run for it's money, has she any lurcher in her?!

I had a very similar experience the first day we got Bella.

TWO hares rise, and run in different directions. Boydog goes one way, Bella the other, and her bloody lead breaks.

So I have one dog pulling my arm out and the other running off, not responding because she doesn't know me.

Finally she stops. Every time I approach her, she backs away with a big stupid doggy grin, great game. I try going backwards, not working. I ended up rugby tackling the little wench, with her brother's lead looped around my arm.

Every time our old girl put a hare up, she would go 'bounce, bounce bounce....oh sod it, I've no chance'.

Bless her, just too much temptation. Good job she was on her own, otherwise you might have been breaking the law.

There have been 2 foxes in our field the past week or so, if Evie gets her nose on the scent she goes completely deaf. Luckily the field is totally fenced so I don't attempt to call her until she has given up, think she would offer me 2 fingers otherwise

Forget the obedience classes when there is a hare around! All the dogs that come to the yard chase them all over the fields no matter how well behaved they are normally! Just have to see it as excercise! The only exception to that is my spaniel Sweep who has been chased by a hare - yes you did read it right he got chased! and yes I am embarassed for him! ;-)

I gave up calling her half way across the field, then she disappeared through the hedge, calling away like mad again as I don't know what's behind the hedge. Then she came bombing back, hoping she didn't have the hare in her mouth -urgh.

I had a lovely quiet evening though, not a peep out of her.
