Hello from across the pond.
I have been barefoot rehabbing my horse Rusty since effectively October.

He was DX with:
1. Moderate Left fore bone inflammation
2. Chronic navicular bursisitis with significant adhesion formation
3. Inflammation of the of the distal medial aspect of P3
4. Significant hoof capsule asymmetry with lateral flaring and possible presence of moderate edema in coronary corium
He presented lameness for approximately 4 months where I did not realize (I had to look back at riding videos from November of 2023). 6 months of box rest from April to September of 2024.

Horse was injected with steroids to reduce inflammation at time of MRI DX (September 2024).
Remedial shoeing was attempted for 1.5 months. After no improvement and possibly a more lame horse, shoes were pulled.
Boots and pads have been used in primarily for the winter. Now that the ground is thawed - boots are not being used.

Rusty lives on my personal property and has access to soft, rounded pea gravel, wood chips, sand, and dirt as surfaces.
I am in the process of building a track around our 3 acre property (approximately 500 meters to complete the full circle). It will have varying surfaces and varying elevations.

My one question, which I have not been able to find much on the internet about -
For horses with adhesions, what are the success rates of horses who have that diagnoses?

I have seen many, many successful barefoot rehabs for Navicular, but I have not been able to determine if they included adhesions.

I have another post where I have been tracking his progress - but wanted to ask the adhesion question on a fresh thread.

For anyone who has had success rehabbing their horse with adhesions, please chime in. If you have not had success, please also chime in. Thank you!!
