Sounds like you're doing all the right stuff. What is he fed and how often is he trimmed? I no longer trim any of mine, after 10 years of trimming and they're better off for it. If he's only just started heel first landing, then you're obviously doing something right and he's only just starting to reap the benefits of a correct landing.
