I'm currently know a horse that has had problems for over a decade. Had many many conditions diagnosed - the latest being Navicular, but no change for the better. Was in shoes all round and pads in front. Diet change, shoes and pads off, horse now sound. Took just a few months. Also behaving better.
Owner is of course thrilled, but also angry that all this time they could have had a sounder, happier horse and a lot more money in the bank.
And this one I would have almost put money on (I don't gamble) that they wouldn't make it - but they proved me wrong - good on them!
My horse is also another navicular barefoot reformist had other issues as well and I can only wish I'd followed my instincts sooner and not listened to the prattle of others.
It is prattle because they made me feel like hooves were something REALLY complicated and scary - which it isn't. It's the most brilliant, simple "organ" I have ever seen and can be understood even by my rugby thug OH!!!!
