I haven't really had any experience with this, and don't know a great deal about helping the horse, other than the few basics.
However today I was riding a unfamiliar pony, it's due to be up for sale and need more work, that felt slightly unsound behind, so questioned the owner about this, as to whether it is just it normal movement as I am used to 16hh+, so rather strange being on something with such short paces. She replied that the pony has navicular and that the vet said it needs to be ridden through the lameness inorder to become sound. (I didn't do this as felt rather unsure about riding it whilst unsound)
What is your opinion on this? As i thought surely egg-bar/balance shoes would be more producive in helping improve soundness?
also posted in vetenary, but haven't had any replies, and thought i would get a better response here =].
