near accident today :(

well was out hacking today on my lil fatty and we had quite a few near misses of cars lorries coming extremly close but luckly shes as sturdy as a rock with most things but a driving instructor on a lesson very nearly hit us so much that stirrup was nearly through his passenger window there was plenty of space to go past so would you
a) ring him and have a word along the lines of even though it was a learner they should not of been that close
b) would you leave it alone ?
only asking because mum thinks i should ring up and say its unacceptable and he needs to make sure the learners saty further away just lucky i wasn't on the youngster today

He sounds like a crap instructor! I think calling him with a few 'friendly' words of advice is a very good idea

Call him. He should know better. How are drivers going to learn to pass wide and slow if they are not taught?

Ring him - he needs to teach people how to pass horses properly or they will never learn! If he is not receptive I would consider speaking to his company or the police if he is an independent.

yeah was an independent teacher dads going to do it as i tend to lose my rag if he tried to deny it

Definitley ring him and let him know how unacceptable that is under the highway code. Make sure though that you explain you don't wish to report him or anything at this point in time but you do want him to realise that learners need to learn the correct way to pass a horse safely.I am one of a very lucky few whose driving instructor also happened to keep horses and so was taught from the start the correct way to behave around horses when behind the wheel.
