OH was travelling to work on thursday morning between easingwold and hovingham (Castle HOward) and missed hitting a loose (tacked up) horse by about 20 yards!

He braked hard, it went across the road into someones yard. so he pulled across the driveway to stop it coming back onto the road and went to see if he could find it or anyone else.

he found a guy stood on the step of the house on his mobile phone, who proceeded to ignore him, even when he was stood infront of him!

Now Pete isn't rude and didn't try to interrupt the guy's phone call, he just waited. when the guy came off the phone nearly 10 minutes later he said "what do you want?" to which P replied he was just trying to find out who's the horse was/ where it had come from etc.

the guy was so rude claiming it was none of pete's business and how dare he block his driveway and eneter his property.... Pete just said he only came to check the horse was ok, then left to go to work. as he got back to his car there was a girl/lady running up the road in her hat and boots.
Peter said that if she was looking for a loose horse it was on the farm/yard somewhere and the girl said thank you at least he had gone 'home'.

how can people be so rude... you can bet the response would have been different if the horse had got hit!

sorry for the rant.

There are some horrible people in this world but thankfully not many of them come on here

Perhaps if they did come on here they might recognise their ignorance and possibly do something about it!!! On the other hand, those sort of people are so bl**dy arrogant that they wouldn't see themselves in a bad light, anyway!!

It really does make you wonder about some people, though.

Shocking! How rude of him!! I posted on here the other week about stopping to catch a loose horse on the road and would have been so miffed if I'd have been met with that type of rudeness! But well done to your OH

not bad for someone who was frightened of anything bigger than a shetland 4 years ago! and was living in central london until last january! he now hunts all day and works in a more rural location than me - and i thought i was meant to be the country bumpkin?! ;-)

Well done your OH for seeing to the horses safety and concern for it's welfare, the guy on the phone sounds a total twat, how ignorant, but then you shouldn't mock the afflicted, you know how difficult it is for retards to understand the speaking clock, it confuses them as it keeps changing it's mind on what time it is, obviously kept that "special" individual tied up for 10 minutes.

Well done on your OH for his actions, as for the guy on the phone he wants to go back and learn about the thing that is free in life...manners!!!

I came off my horse last year, he started to make for home, luckily a young chap stopped and placed his van across the road to stop horse going past or anything else ploughing into him, managed to catch him within minutes, but I couldn't have been more thankful to that chap that day and thanked him endlessly for having the manners and forethought to do something.

Give your OH a huge thank you from anyone that may need him to do something similar in the future, and PLEASE don't let the man's rudeness put him off........
