Nearing the end.

The vet is coming tomorrow and I hope an independent opinion will help. Financially it is not the best thing but my conscience will suffer less I think!

I know I have turned round since yesterday but I think I needed to write it down to really get my head round what to do.

If he's not suffering and in no pain then delaying a decision whilst you sort it out in your head won't do him any harm. But one day too late is far worse than one month too year.

We had an old girl who we really kept going too long - her arthritis was a slow onset and it was hard to remember and compare how much she'd deteriorated. It was after watching a vidoe of her from a couple of years before that we realised how much she'd slowed down and become depressed. I wished she'd gone the year before :(

IF he's perfectly happy then there's no shame in making sure that having him PTS sleep is the best decision. Have the bloods done to rule out any treatable problems and do think about pergolide - it won't do any harm.
